With today’s competition on Instagram, being able to do it right is incredibly valuable. What and how do you post to get more engagement and followers on your Instagram?
I will share the exact steps that you need to take in order to get results. We'll talk about target audience, strategy and how to make the most out of your account in 2020.
So let's get going.
Step #1: Target Audience
Before we start looking into how many times and what kinds of content you need to post, let's talk about your audience.
By knowing your audience, you will be able to produce content that gets likes and new follows.
How to Find Your Target Audience?
Look at the followers accounts that you already have. What do they like? What kind of posts do they share? What are their pain points? How can you help them?
If you are new to Instagram, you can always check out your competitors and see what they are doing.
However, the best way to find out more about your audience is to ask them personally. You can create polls in your stories with simple questions.
Also, don't be afraid to go a step further. Once the polls are answered, send them a private voice message. Be grateful for their answers. This is one of the best ways to build a connection.
Step #2: Content is King
Now that you know what kind of people are your followers, you are ready to take the next step. Brain dump.
Dump all of your ideas about yourself on a sheet of paper. Don't analyze them. Don't overthink them, just put everything that comes into your head.
This is a great way to start because you will find ideas for your BIO and also content topics.
Most importantly, answer one simple question: "How can I be useful to my followers?".
If you have already posted things on Instagram, take some time and analyze which posts received the most reactions. If there is a topic that your followers are interested in, give them more of it.
Trust me, you can create 5 different posts with just one topic. In case you are struggling because you don't know what else you can say, give examples. Real life examples always gets people excited.
Step #3: Strategy
Whether you like it or not, you need a strategy. Consistency is key on Instagram. You can't just post a bunch of things one day and then completely forget about your account the next day.
Here's a draft of what you could do:
- 7x stories per day,
- 3x posts per week,
- 2x reels per week,
- 1 live video per week,
- 1 IGTV video per month.
Does it seem like a lot? Instagram is a lot of work if you want it to be successful. However, if you do the things that I have mentioned above, your accounts reach will skyrocket soon!
Also, don't forget that on Instagram stories you can simply play games to get more engagement. E.g. truth or lie. You can also ask them questions.
Just make sure that you do both: share useful content (for example, tips) and also give them a sneak peek to your own personal life.
Step #4: TOP Notch Photos
It's not a secret that Instagram is a highly visual platform. Nobody is going to read your captions if your pictures won't captivate them first. You probably won't find even one successful account that doesn't have an eye-pleasing feed.
Transform Your Everyday Pictures
With mobile Lightroom presets, you can edit your photos on the go. Don't forget to retouch your photos in stories as well. Stories used to be a place of random stuff. But it isn't anymore.
With 123Presets you can choose a style that is unique and trending. Tan and glowing skin is a must for our presets.
Create an original aesthetic that will make people stop scrolling.
