Best Places to Travel in Winter for Warm Weather

Traveling in winter has its own benefits: cheaper tickets, fewer tourists, and a warm getaway from the coldest month of the year. What are the best places to travel in winter? Let’s think about the next holidays together. I personally prefer warmer countries so this article will focus on places that are nice and cozy. Here are the places that I will talk in greater detail: Thailand, Arizona, Rio de Janeiro, and Mallorca. All of these places have one thing in common: you will most definitely take some of the most beautiful photos.

#1 Thailand - Asia

Thailand is one of the favorite places for female SOLO travelers. There are so many beautiful sights, the people are really nice, and it is a generally safe country. Stunning nature, gorgeous temples, and unique culture.

What to visit in Thailand?

Well, you might want to skip Bangkok because there are a lot of tourists. So don’t be surprised if it will feel crowded. At the same time, seeing it once in a lifetime is definitely worth it. However, if I were you, I would spend 3 days tops. That being said, it’s a lovely city and there are people who love it. If you are planning a trip to Thailand, definitely visit Do Chiang Mai and the islands. They are perfect in January.

What is a Must-See in Do Chiang Mai?

Doi Inthanon National Park. Visit the highest point in Thailand, all the waterfalls, the village, and the temple. This place will be more than worth a visit.

BONUS TIP: Buy local insect repellents. They have specific ingredients to repel the local insects.

Average temperature for January:  80.6°F / 27°C

#2 Arizona - America

The US is great and beautiful but there’s one thing that you will want to keep in mind when traveling there: rent a car. Now, it is possible to travel with public transport in bigger cities such as New York or Los Angeles. However, once you cross the state like Arizona, your public transport options become very limited. So get your credit card and rent your car. The gas is pretty cheap and if you share the car with other people it is quite affordable.

If I am being honest here, Arizona is one of my favorite states in the US. Especially, in winter. Nature is so different from what I am used to. Okay, so what do I recommend visiting in Arizona?

Grand Canyon

One of the best times to visit Grand Canyon is in winter. Yes, it will be a little bit chilly but the views will be mindblowing. The sights will be less crowded because it will not be the touristy season. You may decide not to go down the Grand Canyon because it gets cold and slippery. But trust me when I say that Grand Canyon is stunning in the snow. Once you are there, make sure that you check out the views during sunset and sunrise. One more thing I would like to mention is that it is worth staying overnight. The night sky is beautiful and full of stars. Also, you will want to see the Canyon from all of the sides. Each view is more beautiful than another.

If you are visiting the Grand Canyon, you will most definitely want to visit Sequoia national park and Antelope Canyon. In this case, photos speak louder than words:
